Just got back from a three day break at East Brae cottage. What can we say, such a fantastic place Christine & Jim made us feel so welcome it was like a home from home they are brilliant hosts. Stunning views from every window and the breakfast was delicious made with all top class produce, free range eggs from the chickens outside. And Christine's home made cake and a cup of tea await you on arrival yum yum!!. The place is absolutely spotless the beds are so comfy and we will look forward to our next visit and would highly recommend East Brae to anyone looking for accommodation in Dumfries.
This is my second visit and it was even better than the first, difinitely in the top 5 for me when it comes to b and b. The place is so clean even the corners, the meals are very carefully prepared and served and everything is available. Again, Christine and Jim, especially Christine go the full mile and beyond to make you feel welcome and they pamper you beyond the call, they are worth every penny they charge, when in Dumfries I would not stay anywhere else! Thank you so much for being the people you are for you epitomise the backbone of those who work in this industry.

We stayed at East Brae last year as a group on a charity event. We found East Brae on the internet and booked accordingly. We were made so welcome by the hosts Jim and Christine that when a further charity event was arranged this year we had no hesitation in booking again. Jim and Christine are great hosts and nothing is too much trouble, you are made to feel very welcome and it is a home from home. The rooms are clean, tidy and well equipped with a hospitality tray and TV. I have slept in both the twin en-suite and a double room. Both beds were of a good quality and I had a really good night's sleep. As a previous reviewer has said, you could eat your dinner off the floor. This B & B is of an exceptionally high standard..
We were on a charity trip round the UK visiting 66 Army Bases to raise money for the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal. One night we could not get accommodation in Army Barracks so stayed here. What a fantastic place it is set in beautiful Dumfrieshire and although near a road it was very quiet. Very clean and great food. Jim and Christine made us very welcome and I enjoyed an evening in their lounge chatting and speaking on SKYPE to Hans their friend in Germany.
We were attending a wedding near Castle Douglas and East Brae Cottage had been recommended by the locals as a good place to stay for B&B. We were not disappointed. We were using sat nav to try and find the cottage (not recommended) eventually we phoned and a friendly voice directed us to our destination. Jim met us at the door and invited us in for a coffee. We were being picked up in about 1 hours time and when Christine came in she offered us a light lunch which was much appreciated. We explained that we would be late back from the wedding and were given a key to let us in. This was much appreciated as was the fantastic breakfast we had the following morning.
